Bethel Township Receives $243,800 in DCNR's Community Conservation Partnerships Program
Bethel Township Awarded State Conservation Grant to Assist in Shaffer Property Purchase
On December 30, 2021, the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources announced an investment of $70 million for 317 projects across Pennsylvania that will revitalize communities, create new recreational opportunities, and conserve natural spaces. Under the Community Conservation Partnerships Program, Bethel Township was awarded a conservation grant for $243,800 to assist with the open space acquisition of over 20 acres on the historic Shaffer Property. 
In 2021, Bethel Township received a total of $686,467 for open space acquisition and park planning. Bethel Township is grateful for the support from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Delaware County, and the residents of Bethel Township in its efforts to preserve and protect the open spaces that make our Township a beautiful place to live.
