In Bethel Township, the Township Manager is the administrative officer of the Township. The individual serving in this role is appointed by the Board of Supervisors and is responsible for a variety of tasks essential in the day-to-day operations of the Township.

The Board of Supervisors is comprised of five members who serve six-year terms and are elected to office by the residents of Bethel Township. The Board is charged with the general governance of the Township and the execution of legislative, executive, and administrative powers in order to ensure sound fiscal management and to secure the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Bethel Township.

The Township Building Inspector is responsible for inspecting, monitoring, and investigating residential and commercial properties to ensure compliance with municipal ordinances and state and federal regulations in an effort to maintain and promote health, safety, and welfare for all residents and businesses.

The Highway Department performs diverse duties in an effort to maintain Township parks, roads, and other public facilities.

The Planning Commission is comprised of seven members who serve four-year terms and are appointed by the Board of Supervisors. The Committee acts in an advisory capacity to the Board of Supervisors to review subdivision and land development plans. The Planning Commission’s responsibility is to assure compliance with local building and zoning ordinances, comprehensive plans, sub-divisions, and land development codes, and ensure compliance with Pennsylvania's Municipalities Planning Code.

The Bethel Township Police Department is a group of public service employees appointed by the Board of Supervisors. All are sworn law enforcement officers who meet the standards of the Municipal Police Officers Training Act and are subject to Pennsylvania law. Staffing is met through a management team, which includes a chief, detective sergeant, sergeant, corporal, and is supported by approximately 20 patrol officers.

The Bethel Township Sewer Authority is an independent authority permitted under Pennsylvania law and governed by the Pennsylvania Municipality Authorities Act. The primary duties of the Authority are to operate, maintain, repair, and construct a public sanitary system within Bethel Township.

The Bethel Township Tax Collector is an elected office that is permitted under Pennsylvania law and governed by the Second Class Township Code. The Tax Collector will serve a four-year term of office.

The Township Treasurer is a public employee, whether an individual or a corporation, appointed by the Board of Supervisors. The Treasurer is responsible for assisting the Board of Supervisors in financial matters, as well as, preserving account books, documents, and other financial records in the Township.

Every parcel in Bethel Township is located within a specific zoning district which contains specific requirements relative to height, bulk, floor area, coverage, setbacks to property lines, and lot area, as well as specific permitted uses. The Zoning Officer works to ensure that all properties are in compliance with the Zoning Code in an effort to protect the health, safety, and welfare of all residents.
