This $500,000 investment will help Bethel Township continue transforming the Shaffer Property into a public preserve focused on conservation, accessibility, and passive recreation. Plans include an ADA-accessible trail network, parking area, lawn and meadow areas, and a boardwalk connecting neighboring communities, while protecting the property's mature trees, wooded areas, riparian buffers, meadows, and wildlife habitat.

Securing significant outside grant funding like this helps the Township move important community projects forward while reducing the amount of local funds needed.
