Tax Collector

Functions

The Tax Collector is an elected office that is permitted by Pennsylvania law and governed by the Second Class Township Code. Tax collectors serve a 4-year term of office. 

Responsibilities

The primary duties and functions of the tax collector include:

  • Collecting all taxes or assessments levied within the jurisdiction by authorities empowered to levy taxes*
  • Keeping / providing reports as requested
  • Providing for certifications necessary for re-financing or settlement of real property
  • Performing other duties associated with the legal requirements of the office
  • Receiving, disbursing, and keeping a general accounting of monies received

*This may include taxes established under the Local Tax Enabling Act. Currently, the Bethel Township Tax Collector only collects taxes assessed against real property for the township and school district

Request for Mailing Address Change

When drafting municipal tax bills, the Bethel Township Tax Collector uses the Tax Assessment Database created and maintained by Delaware County; therefore, when an error is found with your name or address, changes to the system must be performed by Delaware County. To request changes to your mailing address for future tax bills, please submit the form below to the Delaware County Board of Assessment.
